Top 10 Free Blogging Sites

If you are already interested in blogging then at this time you are looking for a blogging platform that suites who you are and your topic. From my blogging series on Picking The Best Free Blogging Site, I reiterated that you really need to choose a blog that is reliable to you and your audience.

Today, we are looking at some of the free blogging sites that we have available. It took some time to compile but here is what I came up with. If you do see one I have missed, please feel free to add to the comments.


  1. WordPress: (http://wordpress.com) This is my particular favourite as it does not have advertisements that appear on your blog. You can set up your layout, color scheme, theme and every little thing just the way you want it. Not only can you install WordPress on your personal internet sites, you can use the very same software program on their web site and save your self all of the technical work. You do not have to install anything, but you can if you pick to. There are also a number of templates online that are free to allow you to choose one that fits your topics.
  2. Blogger/BlogSpot: (http://blogger.com) Blogger is simple and easy to use. Posting is straightforward enough for beginners, yet experienced users can manipulate the template’s HTML code to personalize their blog if they want. Formerly known as Blogspot, Blogger is probably the most user friendly blogging platform out there. The  site is more for personal journals or blogging, rather than business blogs.

  8. Facebook: (www.facebook.com) On Facebook, you can have “Notes” which are viewed by your close friends. If you want only pals and household to see this, you have the alternative on Facebook.

MySpace (www.myspace.com) Here you are able to create a private community where you are able to share photos, journals and interests with your growing network of mutual friends.You will have all sorts of layout and backgrounds to play with. A good thing about myspace is that there are  several internet sites committed to making backgrounds and goodies for it.
  11. Blog (blog.com) – Presents cost-free weblog hosting with widgets, calenders and menu. Blog.com allow you to upload photos and videos to your blog. It, however has  more advantages for paid members as it offers advertising and traffic to their sites.
  12. bravenet

  13. Bravenet (Bravenet.com) – Its a totally free blog hosting with RSS feeds and a lot more.
  14. Tumblr (Tumblr.com) – A weblog platform with a focus on enabling media-wealthy posts.
  15. weebly

  16. Weebly (Weebly.com) – This blog site will enables you to develop a site and blog. It also provides free of charge hosting and alter designs, which are really easy and professional.
